Can I tell my Microwave is leaking by checking for physical damage?

No! Radiation leakage is measured in Milliwatts/cm sq. This can only be
measured by having the units tested.

Tests have shown that microwaves not showing any obvious
signs of physical damage have been found to leak adiation above the
recommnded limit.

Units tested have been found to leak up to 20 times above the limit

The most reliable, accurate and practical method of checking emissions
is to have the ovens tested by an experienced technician using an
advanced survey meter which has been regularly calibrated by a
recognised laboratory (ARPANSA).
